Welcome to Leatside Health Centre

Clinton Road and Manor Surgery merged in July 2021 to form Leatside Health Centre.

Mission Statement

To provide accessible, patient centred ‘family doctor’ services, to the local community. Patients can be assured of friendly, inclusive, and respectful high standards of clinical practice, from a forward thinking team. As part of the local community, we will work with others to improve the health and well-being of people living in Redruth.

“While some services may be affected due to strike action, please continue to come forward for appointments with our team.

Ongoing symptoms? Your own GP is the best port of call, even if you’re on holiday.
Remember to pack your repeat medicines when staying away from home.”

If you need to contact the surgery to request an appointment, or have a general enquiry, please use the START HERE button above.

If you phone the surgery one of our team will complete the online request for you. Save yourself time from waiting in a telephone queue, and please keep our phones free for those patients who do not have online access.

PLEASE NOTE – this service is only available Mondays – Fridays 8:00am – 1:30pm.  Outside of these hours, if you require urgent medical attention that cannot wait until the following day, please telephone the surgery.  Mondays are extremely busy and if you can wait to contact us until later in the week, this would be much appreciated.

During extremely busy periods and when we have reached our on the day appointment capacity, online contact will be switched off until the next normal opening times, as above.

Routine GP Appointments

We always work to prioritise urgent cases to alleviate the strain on Emergency Services and Secondary Care. All cases submitted to the practice are triaged by a duty clinician, and if deemed routine will be placed onto a waiting list.

It is important to consider the following before contacting the surgery:

  • Are your symptoms something you could manage through self-care?
  • Could this be treated through a community pharmacy?
  • Do you need to visit minor injuries to get adequate treatment?
  • Could NHS 111 provide the advice you need?

To help consider the answer to these questions before contacting the surgery, you can visit NHS choices for further advice and information: Your choices in the NHS – NHS (www.nhs.uk)

Patient Data

General Practice Data for Planning and Research (GPDPR)

NHS Digital is introducing changes to the way it collects and uses information from your GP medical record. Click here to learn more about the General Practice Data for Planning and Research (GPDPR) project and for instructions on how to opt-out. Choose if data from your health records is shared for research and planning (National opt-out).

Summary Care Records

Every NHS patient has a Summary Care Record (SCR) which contains your contact details and information about your medicines and allergies. With your permission, it can be accessed by NHS staff in A&E departments, GP surgeries, hospital wards and other NHS organisations to improve the quality and safety of your care.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, NHS Digital is also sharing Additional Information in your SCR, which includes:

· significant medical history (past and present)

· reason for medication

· anticipatory care information (such as information about the management of long term conditions)

· end of life care information

· immunisations More information about the Summary Care Record is available on the NHS Digital website
